The Bunk House is a step back into the cowboy era with a touch of hidden modern. This use to be an oil field office. We purchased it when we bought our house nine years ago and gutted it out to make a guest house. My husband and I are very Western people and love the authentic antiques of the cowboy era. We also like Chuck wagon cooking and there is the end of a chuck wagon in the middle room.
We put in Central air and heat, stackable washer/ dryer, small frig, microwave, coffee pot, toaster; which all close up in the only closet that looks like barn doors, hidden away. All the windows are covered with wooden shutters. The walls are all wood and tin and the ceiling is all tin. The floors are brick paved. It has a real authentic Cowboy galvanized bathtub in the bedroom, two full antique rod iron beds, Heat Sauna for two, French doors leading onto a back porch patio from the bedroom, Direct TV with surround sound which is hidden in the Living room area above the old desk; ceiling fans, Electric fire stove, and a bathroom that looks like a real outhouse. All the comforts of a hotel with a Rustic old look of a Bunk House.
Shreveport / Bossier is a short drive and offers many tourist attractions and restaurants. The Bunk House is a non smoking environment and very clean. I hope you will mosey on in and take a look and tell us what you think or what we should change. If your interested in renting for the night, a week-end, or just a get away, then contact us.
Thanks for stopping by The Bunk House!

Such a great place! Hubby & I are excited about staying there soon.
ReplyDeleteLove this bunkhouse!!! You are so creative to think of that tub... you're right... it's just like the image I posted! I can't wait to follow your blog!
ReplyDeleteMuch love,

Thanks for allowing us to stay in your wonderful bunkhouse! Wow, it really does feel like you are in that cowboy era. It was so peaceful & no one around to bother us. We mostly enjoyed the 2 large queen beds & the privacy of the cute little living room while my husband watched TV & I read in the bedroom. Your price to stay there for the week was unbelievable! I also liked that the cute, western kitchen was so authentic with everything we needed to cook. Thanks again!
ReplyDeleteHugs to you.

ReplyDeleteJust scanned your bunk house. It's great and you did a good job of making it look like something from the old west.
